New Year

Thus, out from under a thousand Christmas lights, bleak January came sneaking up on me again.

Christmas was nice, except of course for the tragedy, with so many dead and so many still missing. On Christmas Day the cold I had been fighting off for some time hunted me down and kept me in bed for almost a week with a sore throat and an aching body. But Christmas Eve was great, lots of presents, food and good company. New Years Eve we spent as we always do, at hubby's parents' place with their neighbours, fireworks, cigarettes and cigars. Since I quit (7 years ago!) this is the only day when when I'm still a smoker.
Yesterday it was back to work and the normal routines... Because I was sick, I didn't really get to enjoy the time off - it hardly feels like I've been free at all.
Today I'm really tired... Hubby's got sleeping problems (poor baby), and sort of drags me along. I got about four-five hours of sleep last night, so my head is starting to feel a bit mushy.
Not much news; working full time at the dentist's, working on my novel, working out at the gym. Business as usual.
Now that the Christmas season is over, I'll start putting all the expectation enery that I had going on longing for spring and summer instead.
