HDCS International Rally 2003 at Herrfallet

I spent my summer vacation at my parents' place in Finland. At the end of my vacation I rode down to Turku in Finland (a 240 km ride) to take the ferry to Stockholm Sweden.

Halfway down to Turku the bike started to sneeze and it was a shaky ride. However I had to make it down to the ferry in time so i continued riding though it was a PITA. Well, I made it down to the terminal and started wrenchin there but could not find what was wrong with it. So I pushed the bike on to the ferry and started to call my fellow riders for some good tips. I finally hooked up with a fellow lister from the Swesportster group at Yahoo, Berra. Berra also rides a '71 Sportster. He had his shop just a short distance from the terminal in Stockholm and he offered me to come to the shop and wrench with the bike.

After a couple of hours of wrenchin I was back on the road again.
The problem was that the point-gap was not large enough.
Here's a pic with Berra's '71 XLCH with electric start and my Rosie : )

I left Stockholm about 9 a.m. and had a really nice ride to the
campingsite of Herrfallet. At noon the tent was up and all the
stuff inside...

Here's my end of the camping fron another angle. Now it was time for a beer!

Speaking of beer, what a way to keep your bewerage cool, eh?!

Peter inspecting the way cool sissy-bar

Here I met another fellow Swesportster-lister, Bertil and two other cool
dudes from Gothenburg whom were my tent neighbours

On saturday some 5-600 bikers went on a short cortege down to
the town of Arboga

Although there were mostly Evos and TC:s there were a couple of
really nice older bikes. Here's a turbocharged Showel.

and a beautiful swedish-style chopper!

Nice flathead!

And a beautifully restored Pan-head

Later the Swesportster- listers had a very informal but nice gathering
at the campsite. Danne even forgot to get his 1:st prize from
the slow-ride!

Time for a sausage : )

Later on it got even more informal : )

Sunday and all packed up and ready to leave. I first rode back to
Stockholm and spent the nite there. On Monday I rode
back to Umeå (650 km in 10 hours)
