Scarlattikvarten's History

West Coast Years

IMM 1989 From 1986 through 1992 Scarlattikvarten raced and cruised from its base Saltholmen in western Gothenburg on the Swedish west coast. Most of the races were club races or distance races organised by local clubs such as LSS, XSS and SSS.

The one true regatta we participated in was held on Lake Vänern in 1990 by Blombergs Båtsällskap and it was a combined Tornado, Hobie and Micro Multihull regatta. It was actually the de facto European Championships for the Micros.

We also participated in a few IMMs (International Multihull Meeting) over the years. To the right we are racing at an IMM in the outer Oslo fjord. This was the first real test of the new spruce/birch plywood cross beams.

At Lilla Kornö The cruising trips lasted from a few days to a couple of weeks. We used to visit Danish harbours like Hals and Ebeltoft, sampling Danish beer, pastries, rye bread and smoked mackerel. We sailed up the Swedish west coast to southern Norway and Læsö saw us a couple of times.
