Scarlattikvarten's History

East Coast Continuation

On Ingarofjarden 2004 1993 saw me move to Stockholm and I brought Scarlattikvarten behind the car. Since 1994 she has been based in KSSS' marina in Saltsjöbaden southeast of Stockholm. (Here is a picture for those of you wondering what a marina at N59 looks like in winter.)

We have been to just one true regatta—the RM for multihulls in Nynäshamn in 1994. Added to this there has been a few distance races but far less than while on the west coast.

The little cruising I have done have seen us sampling some of the archipelagos between Arholma in the north and Loftahammar in the south.

Most of the sailing these days are just joy-rides ranging from less than an hour to a rather long day courtesy of the many hours of daylight in summer here. Click on the 'thumbs' for examples of 'local' day-sails and 'extended' day-sails and what kind of waters we have here. The distance between my northernmost and southernmost positions in the 'local' chart (short.png) is close to 3 nautical miles. In the other case I turned around 15 NM SE of my home port. Southeasterly sea-breeze is quite common here so I get a lot of tacking practice.
