as the staircase
lifts you up

and while you're in here
watch your funny face
in all the funny mirrors
See how they're reflecting you
not so pleasant
but oh so truthfully
diminishing your beauty
exposing your stained skin

making fun of everything
you thought you were

And while you're at it
take a walk on the
wild side
see if you can keep the balance
while the floor is moving
teasing you
challenging you to
dare
to be brave
to be ready to lose ground
for a brief breathless moment
- promise to pick you up!

and then, when you thought
it was finally over
I'll send you away
with a thrill
out in the light and "fresh" air
and neon's and nonsense
noise and nightmares

You'll scream and laugh
and wonder what happened to you
