Deterring X marked the spot. Christer Chytraéus worked with found materials/objects brought in from the busy city street to his basement studio in central Stockholm. After reconfiguration he turned these into obstructive, obtrusive and uninviting objects.
Caltrops and czech hedgehogs made of everyday materials and of different sizes were displayed, invoking dark memories inherent in the swedish-norwegian border region, but also forcing the visitors to adjust and watch their steps.
The large meditative painting with no paint, "canvas på pannå", made on site.
Christer Chytraéus at Sjöänd Skans, just outside of Årjäng. Rows of "Dragonteeth" have been deployed in the forest (in case Nazi-Germany would launch an attack from Norway.)
