The layout was started in 1987 and the pace has been somewhat uneven in periods. At the beginning the layout
was thought as a 'fold-against-the wall' type.
That proved to be a problem whit a multi layer layout.

The weight caused problems.

During a move in 1990 the layout was converted
to an L-shaped table top instead. A dedicated
room with workshop and place for a PC, desk
and bookshelves made the new setting complete.

At the start the idea was to draw a track plan from
scratch. After reading a lot of US railroad
magazines and Kalmbach books, I decided to
use a track plan published in The Best of
Model Railroading Magazine's TRACK PLANS,
from 1983.

I have modified the plan somewhat, for example
has the inspection access been removed as the
plan was converted from HO to N.

The turntable at 0 level has been left out and only two tracks is used as fiddle yard.
