Isle of Skye, with its outstanding natural beauty hosts only one distillery, Talisker. Situated at its western part on the shore of Loch Harport in the village of Carbost. The name means sloping rock, Thalas gair. Talisker switched from triple to double distillation in 1928. The distillery was partly rebuilt in 1960 after a fire. Talisker is one part of the vatted malt of Poit Dhubh.
