In the outskirts of the popular holiday resort of Brora you find the Clynelish distillery. In 1967-68 Clynelish built a new considerable larger distillery on an adjacent site. Due to the demand of whisky in the 1970´s the old part was reopned in 1975, now called Clynelish No.2. This caused so much confusion that the name was changedto Brora. In 1983 even Brora was finally closed.
