GOALS

arrow right
The website designer must today set objective usability goals. Making website software file system increasingly more usable. Redesign and test software systems for easy of use, easy of learning, lack of errors and human satisfaction. Easy to use is the short way of stating the goal of usability testing. When a user of the website can find all of the necessary informations quickly and without undue effort, so the website is easy to use.
The current UBO website interface is thought to be confusing, and containing to mach inconsistency, to many interfaces. This makes it many users unable to proceed in finding available information resources.
The goal is redesign of the part of UBO website with help of the user input. In preparation of the redesigning will be made a set of activities that will continue through the life of this master thesis.

Usability needs

Evaluating the usability of UBO website can take many forms.

Accessibility needs

The importance of accessibility testing and the value of verifying that the UBO website is accessible by all users. It is true that many web pages are functional to the average user. Users with disabilities should use excessive technologies like:

alternative navigation

speech synthesis

This software technology can be useful whenever a computerized application needs to communicate with a user, and so is especially useful in telephone services. Though recorded material still provides the highest quality, recordings are often impractical due to cost or time constraints. Some typical uses for this technology are:

customer support dialog systems, e.g. help desks
unified messaging, especially email reading
screen reader programs for the sight-impaired

screen readers
A screen reader is software that works together with a speech synthesizer to read aloud everything contained on a computer screen, including icons, menus, text, punctuation, and control buttons

screen magnification software

Even sites that appear to be satisfactory often had hidden design flaws that prevent users with disabilities from quickly finding the information they are looking for.
