This is my first IKEA box house. I built it as I wanted a small house that I could hang on the wall at work, allowing the interior to be seen but still not collecting dust. I decided on a vaguely modern style, and an exterior with a Swedish feel to it. I only used supplies available in Sweden, and this is quite a limitiation. I used Jim Collins' printables for the TV, VCR, stereo, and dollhouse - we do have internet access in Sweden, you know. ;-) I wanted to compile a booklet containing instructions in Swedish for building all of the furniture, and I brought the booklets to a Swedish mini show, hoping to make others interested in 1:48 scale (no, there didn't seem to be much interest in smaller scales, and I hardly sold any booklets at all). Unfortunately, the pics below aren't in color (they're from the booklet).
The unfurnished house. Back is removable.
A complete kitchen, including "magnets" holding notes on the fridge. I built all of it from scratch.
The master bedroom. I wanted a nautical theme so I used a blue/white bedspread and painted the walls sky blue with a few white birds. The furniture have "brass" knobs (brown mustard seeds painted gold or brass).
A girl's romantic bedroom. The dollhouse is a printable.
Living room furniture and printable TV and VCR. Remote control and a vase of flowers on the table.
