This is my first 1:144 scale needlepointed rug. I stitched it on 60 count silk gauze using Gütermann silk sewing thread. If you want to try small-scale miniature needlepoint, this pattern makes a good start as it has only four colors of thread and 30 by 42 stitches. (And, of course you don't have to use 60 count - 48 count is easier to stitch on and will still give you a usable carpet size.)
The gentleman in the photo is a doll by Frances Armstrong. The room is in a matchbox house (that's why the room is so shallow).
The rug pattern is in PDF format, and can be downloaded in two different versions: color or black and white. If your computer can't open PDF files you'll have to download and install the free viewer Adobe Acrobat® Reader so you can view and print it.
If you plan to fringe the rug, try the method described on my Fringe a rug page.
