This is one of my very first 1:48 scale projects. I reduced the arbor from 1/12th (1") scale instructions in Miniature Collector (May/June 1997), and landscaped it differently. The original instructions used a flower pot saucer for base but I used the lid of a jam jar. The lattice is needlepoint canvas that I stained, allowed to dry thoroughly on a piece of freezer paper, and cut to size. Don't handle it while wet - it is very easily distorted. I varnished the arbor (including lattice) after assembly.
The stuff at the right is supposed to look like strawberry plants, but it hardly looks like anything at all... except green foam with red and white dots, of course.
