2007-03-17 Studio update: Right… Well, hang in there! We’re getting there, slowly but surely. We are just so in love with the songs that we won’t let anything slip through halfmade. We have finished six of the eight tracks by now and is starting to see the light at end of the tunnel. 2007-02-17 Studio update: We’re still in the mixing process and has finished off four of the eight tracks. Things are going well! 2006-12-27 Studio update: We have now finished all recordings on What makes that evil tick…? We think we need a month and a half or so to mix it and then the mastering begins… We will now move to C. Oak Studio to do the mix and mastering. Mark E did a great job on the album and we really feel we’ve got the best out of everyone working on our songs. Thank y’all! And we finally got a picture of my brother up on the lineup page, check it out! 2006-12-22 Studio update: Finn Zierler’s keyboardsolo for Lash into fury is now in place. Finn has captured the essence of the song—despite the fact that he hasn’t read the lyrics yet!—and produced an evil, yet harmonic solo for us which fit the song perfectly. We are both proud and humbled that he managed to take the time to be a part of this recording! Mark E (you can see a picture of him on our lineup-page) has also done one more round in the studio continuing to put more voices to the songs backing up Andreas lead vocals. We will have one more day of recording and then we are—if all goes well—finished and ready to start mixing. Exciting! Merry X-mas! 2006-12-14 Studio update: For the last couple of weeks we’ve been polishing up some loose ends and our second singer has started his sessions on the recording. His name is Mark E Gunnardo and is best described as a very talented singer with a very high range and clean tone. He is foremost working with us with second and third voices on some of the choirs we’ve made and some new ones. He also has had a go at doing the lead on one of our songs; Surreal reality, with good result. 2006-11-08 Studio update: Andreas Lagerin finished off his last vocal lines and put down some great leadguitar for Scared and Grief. Henrik also made some great solos on Grief, including a duel with Andreas, and Scared. We are now entering the stage of critical listening to find loose ends which need to be tied up to get the best out of each song. 2006-11-01 Studio update: After a two week break we heated up the studio once again. A rumbling visit from fast and furious lead guitarist Linus Abrahamson made his mark on the album, contributing with some excellent solos for As phy xia, Retaliation, Lash into fury, Warm the blood and Surreal reality. We are humbled by Linus’ work and are already looking forward to do some more work together in the future. You can check out a picture of Linus on our Lineup-page. We can also state that apart from a couple of lines, Andreas has made all his leadvocals for the album. We can also state that the album will not be finished until the beginning of next year. We are not sorry about that—we just want the thing to sound as good as possible! 2006-09-26 Studio update: 98% of the leadvocals are now in place and within two weeks time we expect to finish up Andreas’ singing parts with second and third voices and additional choirs, with both Andreas and ourselves. We also hope to bring in one more singer in the studio to do some additional stuff on the album, someone we’ve been working with earlier before we became Nocturnal Alliance. 2006-09-08 Studio update: Andreas made a very good contribution to Grief, we consider lead singing finished on that one. He has also put down all the ground leads for Retaliation, we left it without any second or third voices to rest, but all we can say is that Andreas is really pulling off some of his best work to date! His voice has now tried a large or small bit of each track and though we expect to work with singing for a couple of months still we are already eagerly looking forward to the final results. 2006-09-03 Studio update: Singing sessions are progressing and we are very satisfied with the results. Andreas has finished off As phy xia, Scared and Surreal reality and got off to a thundering start on Grief. We expect to redo the vocals for Lash into fury and he has also made some first vocal lines on Warm the blood and X as try-outs. It hasn’t been decided wether we should redo them or pick up from what’s been done, both tracks are resting for the time being. Micke’s and Henrik’s work with the choirs progresses along with Andreas’ leadsinging. We are also expecting Finn’s keyboardsolo in the mail this or next month to finish up the music on Lash into fury. 2006-08-21 Studio update: All drumtracks is now finished. Henrik put the finishing touches to Grief just the other day. Nocturnal Alliance has been out of the studio for four weeks to enjoy vacations but now we’re back in business and the vocal sessions continues. As phy xia is concidered to be finished except for one ad-lib which hasn’t been done yet. Scared only misses Andreas’ vocal-lines in the chorus, all choirs are done. 2006-07-13 Excerpts for Dark Voices has been extended on the ’Discography’ page and more excerpts are now available. 2006-07-13 Studio update: Andreas has put vocals to parts of Lash into fury and Scared. The process of putting the best vocals on the songs is something NA really stresses hard to do on What makes that evil tick…? We’re working quite different than to how we did on Dark Voices. It is more time consuming and sometimes we run into dead ends in the creative process but we can assure that whatever is kept in the tracks, is kept because it is great stuff! We hope to give you a taster soon. 2006-07-04 Lineup page has been updated again. :) 2006-06-29 Studio update: Singing sessions with Andreas Lagerin has started. Andreas has put his vocals to As phy xia. Needless to say; we’re off to a great start! 2006-06-29 Lineup page has been updated. 2006-06-21 Studio update: Henrik has put down drums on As phy xia and the only track lacking drums now is Grief. Singing sessions has also started where Micke put down some opening choirs for Surreal reality. 2006-06-13 Nocturnal Alliance is very proud and happy to announce that Beyond Twilight’s brilliant keyboardvirtuoso, Finn Zierler, has agreed to participate as a guest on What makes that evil tick…?. Finn will perform a solo on Lash into fury. 2006-06-06 Wallpaper available for your computer. Optimized for 1024x768 and 1280x1024. We still might use an effect or two out of the keyboard but nothing is decided as we speak. We’ve started to put the bass on the tracks where the drums are finished the way we want them to. We still have a few tracks with only slash-drums to keep the beat. But we’re getting there… Recording of vocals will hopefully start sometime in june. 2006-04-21 Translated version of the review from gondolin.aplus.pl is now available on the website. 2006-04-17 Nocturnal Alliance is proud to announce that the coverphoto for the forthcoming album What makes that evil tick…? is taken by awarded journalist, syndicated advice columnist and blogger Amy Alkon.
